Sue Evans

Biography
Sue began stitching as a child following her mother and in school achieving a top grade in O Level Needlework.
Sue’s academic education then led to a career in the accountancy profession and finally in the NHS. This left little time and space to develop artistically until she retired.
Sue has since spend 10 years experimenting in mosaic art enhancing her love of colour, shape and design. Glass classes influenced the need to include change and sometimes unexpected results from the kiln into her work. Many different textile, stitch and paper related classes have expanded her skills and design ideas.

Artist Statement
Sue’s love of colour and stitch are now being linked to techniques she has learnt in working with different mediums. Sue is experimenting with slow hand stitching including both vintage materials and hand dyed fabrics. She is incorporating elements from mosaics and glass art into her latest work.
